Welcome to this special edition of the IC newsletter. We are delighted that so many of you have told us that you find the IC quarterly updates on all things consulting useful.
I am referencing this as a special edition, as it falls outside of the usual quarterly update. We know that there has been some discussion on the value of membership and a call for further information on development of the Chartered Management Consultant award. For this reason we thought it would be useful to provide an update on the latest progress here.
Membership is seen as a hallmark of the value that you, as an individual consultant, place on continuous professional development, underpinned by your subscription to an ethical code of practice and access to networking, events and mentoring. These are powerful indicators to your clients, employers and wider publics of your professional identity, providing reassurance of your professionalism and integrity.
But we also understand the need for a higher profile, status and recognition of your membership both within the profession and the wider business community. I have no doubt that the new Chartered Management Consultant award will contribute significantly in our efforts to achieve this and, as you will see in this edition, there are some positive signs towards this long-term ambition becoming a reality.
In our previous newsletter we brought you the news that two UK members, Calvert Markham and Dr Simon Haslam, have recently been accepted as members of the Academic Fellow panel which will help us ensure that the UK remains at the forefront of academic developments in our profession. Please read the ICMCI press releases which provide further detail on Calvert and Simon’s well-deserved achievements. We also bring you news of an IC website refresh as well as other important updates, including the IC’s attendance at the recent ICMCI Eurohub meeting which took place in Bonn, Germany in July.
We thank you for your continued support for the IC and welcome any feedback you may have. Please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org.
