The Need for an IC Expert Panel for Coaches

Coaching and mentoring are becoming a natural and sometimes essential part of many consultancy activities, with the value and benefits recognised by consultancy clients. For some IBC members this is now a specialist activity.

Like other consultancy activities, there are core skills, competencies and behaviours that are required to sustain a level of professionalism compatible with the over-riding objectives of the IC.

An increase in practice and ethical standards within the industry as a whole is also being driven hard by professional coaching associations and the IC is aligning with the Statement of Shared Professional Values drawn up by the UK Coaching Round Table shown on this website.

With this in mind the IC has set up the Coaching Expert Advisory Panel to support IC members who offer coaching/mentoring services. The objectives of this Panel are, by using individual and collective knowledge, and links to centres of expertise and excellence, to provide specialist support, advice and guidance to members to help them match best practice and succeed in a highly competitive market place (see also Coaching Panel Terms of Reference).

Coaching agreement

The Institute of Consulting is pleased to be able to offer an industry standard commercial Coaching Agreement. The Agreement is endorsed by the IC and EMCC and is available to IC and/or EMCC members only.

Written in plain English this Coaching Agreement will help to simplify legal conversations and reduce commercial risks between coach/mentors and their organisational clients - nothing like this has been available in the market for coach/mentors until now.
